Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a cosmetic procedure that can be used on men and women to remove dull, dead skin cells and fine hairs from your face and to stimulate the body’s own cell regeneration process. Dermaplaning helps to improve, soften and smooth the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, and dull skin, with no side effects or downtime.
The treatment is performed by one of our board-certified dermatologists, licensed aestheticians or other medical professionals trained in the procedure using an instrument called a dermatome which evenly "skims" off the surface layers of skin cells and hair, unclogs pores and creates a very smooth surface. If you wear moisturizer or makeup, you will notice how it just glides on following dermaplaning.
Dermaplaning is a safe, comfortable, in-office procedure that can be performed in about 10 to 20 minutes – and can also be combined with other treatments, such as a facial. Results are immediate but aren’t permanent (they do last about four weeks). This procedure works well for all skin types, but should be avoided if you have active acne, a rosacea flare, or eczema or psoriasis in the area you want treated. Dermaplaning can aggravate these conditions. You skin will be more sensitive to sunlight immediately after your dermaplaning procedure. We recommend you use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least an SPF of 30 after the process.
For a quick and immediate pick-me-up for your skin, consider dermaplaning to get smoother, softer skin with no downtime, redness or peeling.
