Credentials
Dr. Hawkins is a University of Michigan trained board-certified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon. He performs comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He frequently treats skin cancer, acne, rosacea, dandruff, hair loss, eczema, psoriasis, bothersome growths, as well as complex medical dermatology. He is highly trained in dermoscopy (magnified skin lesion analysis), dermatologic surgery, and Mohs micrographic surgery.
Dr. Hawkins adheres to what he believes is the Golden Rule of medicine: treat each patient as if they were a member of your family. The Chattanooga, TN native earned his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine in North Carolina followed by dermatology residency at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). Following residency, he completed a Mohs micrographic surgery fellowship in northern Michigan under the direction of Dr. Murray Cotter. He is currently completing an ISHRS accredited hair restoration fellowship part time in Orlando with Dr. Matt Leavitt, founder of Medical Hair Restoration and Executive Medical Advisor for Bosley and is the editor of HairMedicine.org, an educational resource designed to educate patients and providers about different causes, symptoms, and treatment options of hair loss.
Dr. Hawkins spends his weekends in Boston with his wife Victoria, an infertility fellow at Mass General. He is an avid hiker, scuba diver, skier, and traveler.
