Credentials
Born and raised in Oceanside, N.Y. and then graduated with a B.A. in Biology @ SUNY @ Buffalo. After college on to the Chicago Medical School now called the Rosalind Franklin University where he graduated in 1981 after receiving his M.D. degree. Dr. Stokar completed a residency in Internal Medicine @ the Albert Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia and become board certified in Internal Medicine in 1984. He subsequently moved to Pittsburgh where he was Chief Resident in Dermatology and completed a residency in Dermatology becoming board certified in Dermatology in 1987. Since that time he has been in private practice in Dermatology focusing on skin cancer and medical dermatology. He teaches residents from the UPMC Medical center. He is an active member of the AAD , Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania Academies of Dermatology as well as the Noah Worcester Dermatological Society. He and his beautiful wife Sharon live in Piittsburgh with their 2 cats and 2 dogs and have 4 boys, 1 daughter and 6 grandchildren together. Dr. Stokar enjoys traveling and playing in his rock band.
