Nurse Practitioners Partner with Patients to Provide Excellent Healthcare

Celebrating National Nurse Practitioner Week, November 8-14

National Nurse Practitioner Week is held annually to honor the critical role of nurse practitioners (NPs) in championing the health of our patients, and to celebrate these exceptional health care providers.

This year’s commemoration occurs as the nursing community joins together to celebrate the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife — all coinciding with the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. If these weren’t enough reasons to celebrate all that NPs have achieved, 2020 also marks the 100th birthday of Dr. Loretta C. Ford, the co-founder of the first NP program at the University of Colorado and the first champion of the NP role. Advanced Dermatology is proud of the remarkable care our Nurse Practitioners provide to our patients every day. We thank them for their outstanding contributions to the health of our patients, and our nation

Advanced Medical, Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatology Leadership Training for PAs and NPs

At Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery (ADCS), we believe that the power to give back by teaching and mentoring others is helping us establish the next generation of leaders.

We continue to be a driving force behind advanced educational programs in dermatology for nurse practitioners. This advanced training is helping to shape the future of dermatologic care, to create clinicians who individually, and as a whole, will continue to drive progress and innovation at Advanced Dermatology, and to ransform healthcare at its highest levels.

Helping professionals get the advanced training they need to make a difference for the rest of their lives is a passion of ADCS Executive Chairman and Founder Dr. Matt Leavitt. And it is rapidly becoming an important part of his legacy.

Under his guidance, Advanced Dermatology has created a program for new dermatology nurse practitioners who are looking to acquire the advanced knowledge and skills that will help them provide exceptional patient care as they transition into practice.

Our program faculty includes some of the foremost dermatologists in the country who are preparing future clinical leaders in dermatology for challenges they may face by offering them evidence-based, experiential training, specialty-specific skills, and an introduction to the mission, vision, values, culture and advanced practice-wide quality metrics at ADCS – which has become the nation’s premier dermatology practice.

“You’ll receive didactic, clinical, and procedural training (that includes direct patient care directed by board-certified dermatologists in a supervised, structured environment, and sub-specialty training in areas such as Mohs Surgery,” said Dr. Leavitt. “We standardize baseline clinical competencies to help ensure the best-possible patient care and experience, which is at the very core of ADCS.”
